Privacy Policy

Last updated:

Here's how FastNames handles your information, in plain English as much as possible. If we ever add analytics, ads or any other outside service, we'll update this page first.

What we don't collect

There are no accounts here, no sign-ins, no comments and no mailing list. We don't build profiles of visitors, we don't set our own tracking IDs, and we don't sell personal information. The only personal information we get directly is whatever you decide to send us by email.

Names you type into our tools

Our name tools (like comparing how popular two names are) run right in your browser. Whatever you type isn't sent to us or anyone else, and it isn't saved. Some tools put the names into the page address so you can bookmark or share the result. That address stays on your device unless you share it, and if we're running analytics, it records the page without those names.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare sees the basic details every visit involves (your IP address, the page you asked for, and your browser and device type) so it can deliver the page and keep the site safe from abuse. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.

Analytics

We don't use any analytics service right now.

Advertising

There are no ads on the site right now. If that changes, we'll update this page before any ads appear.

Your privacy choices

European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland

Analytics and advertising cookies are off by default and stay off. We don't currently ask for consent because there's nothing to consent to.

California and other US states with privacy laws

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other states with consumer privacy laws have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising, and may have rights to know about, access, correct or delete personal information.

  • Global Privacy Control. If your browser or extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal, this site treats it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising, without you having to do anything else.
  • Requests. We hold no personal information about visitors beyond any email you send us. To ask what we hold, or to have it corrected or deleted, write to contact@fastnames.us. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.

Everywhere

  • You may opt out of personalized advertising from Google by visiting Ads Settings.
  • You can opt out of some third-party vendors' uses of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
  • You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site works without them.

Children

FastNames is meant for a general audience, not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top.
